Five Star Firearms Training was formed in 2009 to fulfill a need for training in the Truckee/Lake Tahoe Area. We offer a variety of courses, depending on your needs. From NRA courses to concealed carry courses and individual instruction we can meet your requirements. Class size is kept small (one to four) and scheduling is on demand offering individual flexibility for the student.
In addition to offering California concealed carry courses we offer the Utah concealed carry course which is honored by thirty-some states plus the State of Nevada. We are also certified by the California Department of Justice to train and certify other California instructors. Plus, we offer the Firearm Safety Certificate Course (FSC) and testing.
Our instructor is a retired military officer with sixteen years of service with the Truckee Police Department as a police volunteer and team leader. Consequently, he has a comprehensive understanding of firearms and law enforcement expectations. As a former Federal Firearms Dealer he is familiar with pertinent Federal, State and local laws regarding firearms.
Over the years he has provided training for youth groups, assisted collectors in obtaining firearms through the Federal Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and conducted specific court ordered training upon request.
